Spaghetti bolognaise

  • 3oz lean mince per person
  • Chopped vegetables- onions, peppers, courgettes, peas, mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, sweetcorn, peas, leeks
  • Tinned tomatoes
  • Mixed herbs
  • 3-4 oz spaghetti per person

 

  1. Place the mince in a dry saucepan over a low heat on the cooker.
  2. Stir all the time, to prevent burning, until it browns.
  3. Drain off any excess fat from the meat, then add the chopped vegetables, tinned tomatoes, herbs and spices etc. (If you add the vegetables at the start they will absorb most of the fat from the mince.)
  4. Simmer for approximately 30 minutes until cooked.
  5. Serve this over cooked spaghetti (with a salad if you like).
